Park View Farmhouse is located on the edge of Kentisbury, a small North Devon village that lies just a short drive from Exmoor National Park and the golden coastline. The village itself is wonderfully sleepy, home to just several farms and cottages that are well spaced out giving everyone plenty of privacy, it even has its own petrol garage that doubles up as a handy village shop selling daily essentials and a children’s playground, which can be found on the road leading to the church.
For those that love to get out and explore the local walks there are some easily accessible footpaths from the farmhouse that take in the nearby woods and countryside, you can even walk to the pub, The Pyne Arms but it is a bit of a trek back up the hill. Further afield there is the South West Coast Path, which can be joined in Combe Martin only a few miles away and provides plenty of coastal walks to some wonderful places such as Heddon’s Mouth.
Just up the road from Park View Farmhouse is Blackmoor Gate, the gateway to Exmoor National Park, here you can spend hours walking over moor clad hills or enjoying a picnic beside a babbling brook - a hidden gem for many visiting Exmoor is Landacre Bridge which is about a 40 minute drive but well worth a visit. Exmoor is also home to some wonderful wildlife, look out for the red deer or Exmoor pony that roam the hills and valleys, and don’t forget to stop off and enjoy a traditional cream tea in one of the many cosy tea rooms.
If you are looking to spend a day at the beach then look no further than North Devon’s golden coastline, which features some of the UK’s best beaches including Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton. All these beaches are family friendly with lifeguards on duty throughout the summer season, they are also ideal for water sports such as surfing and sea kayaking.
Along with the beaches and Exmoor, Park View Farmhouse is within easy reach of many of North Devon’s attractions, as well as some lovely places to visit.
